Barry Portnoy, M.D.
Dr. Portnoy has been a part of the CentraCare Family since 1995. He earned his Master of Public Health/Tropical Medicine at Tulane University and his Doctorate of Medicine from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was an Allan Fund Scholar, received a Merck Award and Frederick P. Gay Award in Microbiology. Training in Gastroenterology was done at Yale University. He served as a Surgeon for the U.S. Public Health Service doing medical research at the National Institutes of Health. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Diplomat of the Sub-Specialty Board of Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Public Safety committee of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
